1. Click on the "download" link next to the rubric template you want to copy to the hard drive of your computer.

Depending on your browser, and the preferences you've chosen, you might be prompted to open or save the file. Choose to save the file. This will copy the file to your browser's download default location—usually your Desktop

If you had trouble with the above method, especially if you are using Internet Explorer, you might find it easier to right-click on the"download" link then select "Save Target As…" (or "Save Link As…" or "Save Link Target As…" depending on which browser you are using) from the drop down menu, then select the location on your hard drive where you want to save the Zip file.

Either of these methods will copy a 224k Zip file to your computer's hard drive, in your browser's download default location—usually your Desktop, or the location of your choice.
2. Find the downloaded Zip file. It will be titled "online-rubric.zip", or "essay-rubric.zip", etc depending on which template you chose.

3. The Zip file is a compressed file. You now need to uncompress it before you can use it in Excel. Double-click on the downloaded Zip file to open it in your default compression/decompression utility.
4. Extract and save the Excel file "onine-rubric.xls", or "essay-rubric.xls", etc to your hard drive.

5. You are now ready to setup and use your rubric template. Please read the How to Setup A Rubric Template instructions, then
6. Double-click on the .xls file to open it in Excel.
