Discount software schemes for staff
Software for personal use may be purchased at reduced rates from outlets external to the University of Newcastle. Users should check prices and minimum configurations when purchasing from these outlets.
IT Services accepts no responsibility for software purchased from these outlets and advises that versions may not be compatible with versions of software installed on University owned lab and staff computers.
Office 365 University
A range of Microsoft software, including Microsoft Office University 2010 and Microsoft Office for Mac University 2011, is available directly from Microsoft at significantly discounted prices.
Visit Microsoft Store to place an order and for full terms and conditions. A valid University of Newcastle email address is required to place an order.
Microsoft Work at Home
The University wide site licence for Microsoft includes 'work at home use' rights. This allows staff with a licenced copy of Microsoft software installed on their work PC to conduct work related activities on a privately owned computer.
A copy of the media and licence key can be purchased from the online store of our reseller - Insight.
It is a condition of this arrangement that the software must be uninstalled when the staff member ceases employment with the University.
