Commercial Services & IT Services have developed a web based Customisable Requisition System (CRQ) to facilitate the leasing and/or purchasing of goods. Currently desktop and notebook computers (Apple computers available soon) are available to be ordered through this system. This means that staff who normally requisition standard systems through Finance One are no longer required to do so.
The current method for ordering computer accessories and peripherals has not changed.
The CRQ system will interface the required details to a Finance One order on approval in the CRQ system.
The CRQ provides a simpler front-end ordering process for staff, whilst providing the University with a means of better managing its standard operating environment for PCs and notebooks and the University’s policy on leasing such equipment.
Other items such as software sales, and mobile phones are currently being considered for inclusion in the range of items available.

Implementation Phases:
PHASE 1 - Complete
• DELL desktop standard PCs
• DELL notebook computers
• Requests for non standard PC and laptops
PHASE 2 (TBD - 2007)
Phase 2 of this project (Mid 2007) is aimed at enhancing re-allocation of surplus to need PCs and notebooks, through a pooling system. This will ensure that the University realises maximum usage of existing resources prior to committing to new resources.
Investigate mobile phones, and software sales through the CRQ system.
