Inappropriate use of Information gained as an employee of the University
Matt is a University of Newcastle student and member of residential staff at Edwards Hall. Matt uses his own email account and his Face book page to send a message to a number of his friends, some of whom are students at the University. The messages disclose information gained through Matt’s employment regarding an incident that occurred at Edwards Hall involving a fellow student. In sending these messages is Matt acting appropriately to protect the privacy of information he has access to in his role as a University employee?
