The National Disability Coordination Officer is a great link for employers when they are seeking to improve their disability confidence.
In addition to free training for Hunter employers on disability awareness and recruitment - and information on how to support the employees with a disability that you may already have - there are a range of resources available for your use.

If you are a large employer who employs more than 100 people, help is available to make it easier for you to recruit people with disability and to access support services including on the job support and employer incentives. The National Disability Recruitment Coordinator offers a point of contact for all employers looking for advice on the recruitment of people with disability, and is able to link you with Disability Employment Service providers and help you establish a working relationship with them.

The NDCO, along with representatives from Newcastle City Council, are founding members of NDEAG - a committee of local business, education, vocational, employment services, community members and local/state/federal government departments either involved directly with the employment of people with a disability, who have an interest in this area, or who are people with a disability themselves.
