iPad Resource Page

The following User Guides and Resource Links are provided to support staff using a University iPad.

This information may be useful for personally owned iPads or other Apple devices running iOS software (eg. iPod Touch, iPhone)  but is provided as a guide only. Students and staff are responsible for the backup of data on their personal devices.

IT Services DOES NOT provide support for personal devices and takes no responsibility for data loss.

Purchase of additional iPad Apps

Members of University Council and Senior Executive who have been issued with a University iPad can contact the 17triplezero IT Service Desk. to arrange purchase of Apps.
All other staff requiring additional software for their University provided iPad must purchase the Apps at their own expense, and claim approved transactions through Spendvision.

Connecting your iPad to the University wireless network (PDF)

GroupWise

The default Mail app installed on your iPad IS NOT compatible with GroupWise.
If you wish to use your University iPad to access GroupWise, please use one of the following options:
1. Connect via the University's GroupWise web application via a web browser (Safari), OR
2. Purchase the GW Mail and/or GW Calendar apps from iTunes, and follow the instructions for Setting up GW Mail and GW Calendar on your iPad (PDF)

DON'T Why
Use a University credit card to make purchases from the App store or iTunes Such use is included in the  Schedule of Prohibited Purchases in the University's Purchasing Card - Policy and Procedures
Jail-break your iPad This exposes it to malware and malicious software and voids any warranty.
IT Services WILL NOT support University owned iPads that have been jail-broken.
Use the Mail app to access GroupWise Your calendar is not supported and your sent items are not synchronised to your GroupWise postbox.
Solution:
Use the University's GroupWise web application or
purchase the GW Mail and GW Calendar apps from iTunes
