Mobile Devices
University owned devices
The University of Newcastle may provide mobile devices to staff members and business functions where there is a demonstrated business need. These devices are limited to mobile phones, iPhones and Apple iPads.
Allocation and use of University mobile phones, iPhones and iPads is governed by the Mobile Phones - Purchasing and Use Policy. It is the responsibility of staff with an allocated device to ensure they are aware of, and comply with this policy at all times.

| IT Services is responsible for the procurement and support of the devices |
| The Business Unit is responsible for any costs generated from the use of the mobile device, which can include call and/or data charges |
Personal devices
University staff, students and visitors are encouraged to bring personally owned mobile devices to campus. Staff and students can access the University Wireless Network via current username and password authentication. Eligible visitors may be able to connect via eduroam.
IT Services does not offer any support for personally owned devices, however some general connection documentation is available for staff and students.
