Financial Assistance for Students
Student Loans
The Student Loans Scheme provides interest free emergency loans on a short term basis to students who demonstrate genuine need and whose continued study might be placed in jeopardy if assistance were not available.
Loans may be approved for rent, bond, living expenses and textbooks. Loans are NOT available for the payment of HECS or to purchase capital items such as computers or cars. For further information see our Student Loans Scheme policy.
Loan applications are treated confidentially and assessed on an individual basis. To complete your application please fill out the following forms and bring them to your interview:
You MUST also bring the following with you to the interview:
- Proof of identity with photograph i.e. Drivers Licence/Passport, etc.
- Current Student Card (or, if this has not been issued, a fees notice)
- Health Care Card (if applicable)
- Evidence of income i.e. Centrelink statement, bank statement, pay slips, etc.
- Banking details including BSB and account numbers
- Any other evidence to substantiate claim, ie bills, lease, text book list, etc.
