The computers on the desks to the right of the Information Desk (as you face it) have dedicated access to NEWCAT. NEWCAT is the catalogue system used by the library. All the material held at the University of Newcastle libraries is on the catalogue. You can check to see whether we hold an item by author, title, subject or by keyword. Further information on how to use the catalogue is in the NEWCAT guide or on the web.

The University is involved in a resource sharing project called Bonus+. This provides University staff and students access to resources from other participating University Libraries. Use Newcat  to access and search for Bonus items.

TAFE staff and students can also check TAFEcat to see if a book that is unavailable here is held in one of the TAFE libraries. To place a request for a TAFE book, fill out a form available at the information desk.
