Searching the Internet

Information of almost any kind can be found on the Internet. However, not all this information is reliable or trustworthy. You must evaluate what you find, especially if you want to use it in an assignment.

Search tools are commonly used to find online information :

Subject Directories
Search Engines and Metasearch Engines

No one engine can index all of the web, and they do not all cover the same parts of the web. You should use more than one search engine or directory to ensure a comprehensive search.

The following links might help:-
The Internet Guide gives an easy introduction to the Net, its services and what you'll need - netiquette etc.
Noodle Tools - an excellent site to help you decide which search engine to use and what’s the best strategy as well.
