Omitting author names

When an author’s name occurs naturally within a sentence, you may not want to repeat it within an in-text citation.

To omit an author’s name:

  • Click within the citation in the Word document, then select the Edit Citation icon Edit Citation(s) icon. The Edit Citation Window will appear
  • Click the box to the left of Exclude author, then OK.

Example
