Backing up and compressing your Library

It is important to make at least one backup copy of your Library in case disaster strikes.  Whenever you make changes to your Library, back it up.

To back up your Library:

  • Use File > Save a Copy to save an exact copy of the Library.  You can also save a copy via My Computer or Windows Explorer.

To save a copy of your Library and .DATA folder together, as a compressed file:

  • Use File > Send To > Compressed Library. This file can be re-opened in EndNote via the File > Open command.
