Adding text to multiple references simultaneously

EndNote provides a feature that allows you to add text to a number of references simultaneously.  This feature is particularly useful when you are transferring references from databases into EndNote and need to add text to your references, such as keywords, details about the name of the database, or a course code.

To add text to the references “showing” in your Library Window:

  • Select References > Change and Move Fields. The Change and Move Fields Window will appear.

  • Ensure the Change Fields Tab is selected:
    • From the In: drop down list select the field to which the text will be added
    • Type the text to be added into the text box
    • Select the position of the text from the Change radio buttons
    • Click OK.
