Direct export

Some library databases include a ‘direct export’ option that allows you to automatically transfer references from the database to an EndNote Library. Direct export is available with a range of the University of Newcastle library databases. Check the table on the University’s Importing from Databases webpage for a list of direct export friendly databases.

Using direct export is straightforward, and generally involves the following 4 steps:

1. Searching a library database
2. Marking the references to be saved
3. Selecting the database's ‘Direct Export’ option
4. Nominating the EndNote Library where the references will be transferred.
