Using Short Loans

Material in the Short Loans Collection is attached to a Short Loans List. These lists display all material for a specific Lecturer or Course code. To find material in Short Loans, you will need to find the location and call number of the material you require by searching Short Loans in NEWCAT. Many of the items attached to Short Loans lists are now available digitally, and so will not be held in hard copy format in Short Loans.

Using NEWCAT to search the Short Loans Lists:

By Course Code or name

Type the Course name or Code - eg.
- HIST1020
- Foundations of Australian Society
- Examination Papers history
Press Enter or click on Submit Search
Click on a title to display Location, Call Number and Status

By Lecturer

Type the Lecturer's Surname - eg.
- ogden
- ogden, m
Press Enter or click on Submit Search
Click on a title to display Location, Call Number and Status

By a General Search

You can search NEWCAT to find online articles and the location of books and AV items by:

Author
Title
Words

Lecture Notes

Lecture notes are included in the Short Loans List with your subject Reading List material. You can search by:

Course - eg. HIST1020 or Course name: Australia in the 20th Century
Lecturer - eg. ogden, m
Title - eg. HIST1020 Lecture
Call number - eg. Lect - HIST1020

Short Loans material can be Booked for a time convenient to you. Booked items not checked out within 10 minutes of the booking time may be given to another client.
