University Libraries Australia and New Zealand - ULANZ
A Borrowing Scheme for Staff and Students of Australia and New Zealand Universities
ULANZ is a borrowing scheme which allows all staff and students of CAUL AND CONZUL member libraries to borrow in person from any other interstate university in Australia. The scheme is a cooperative arrangement between member universities of the Australian Vice Chancellors' Committee.
The scheme came into effect 1 January 2013.
Who is Eligible
All staff and students from participating universities are eligible.

Register by filling in the ULANZ Application form, which can be printed, signed and presented along with your payment at the Loans Desk to obtain borrowing privileges.
The University of Newcastle's Library Use Policy should be read before signing the application form.
Proof of Identity/Enrolment
- Students are required to produce a photo ID and proof of current enrollment.
- Staff are required to produce a photo ID and proof of current employment/affiliation.
Both are needed to establish proof of identity and eligibility to participate in the scheme.
Students enrolled at participating universities via Open Universities Australia are not eligible for University of Newcastle Reciprocal Membership.
Duration of Borrowing Privileges
ULANZ borrowing privileges are valid to 28 February of the following year. A new authorised application form is needed each year.
Cost
Students: $50
Staff: No charge
Payment can be made by Eftpos, cheque or credit card.
No charge for students of BONUS+ partner libraries.
Privacy
Borrower's are required to read and sign the application form acknowledging and agreeing to use of information.
Information may be sent to the home library if items are not returned to the host library, and that further sanctions may apply at their home library depending on the rules of the home library.
Change of Address or Status
If you change your address or leave your institution, or if you lose your card, please notify University of Newcastle Library as soon as possible.
