The University of Newcastle Library Client Satisfaction Survey

The 2012 Library Survey

Thank you to everyone who filled in the 2012 Library Survey. We had an excellent response rate and are delighted to have received  a high overall rating of 81.4%.

Congratulations to the iPad winners - Grace Chun and Scott Walker and to all the winners of the $50 vouchers.

The Library will be working hard in the future to maintain our high standards and to address the areas identified in the 2012 survey as needing improvement. Thank you once again for your honest feedback and ongoing support.

The Library Survey is your chance to have your say.

The Library survey gauges satisfaction with our equipment, facilities, collections and services. Honest feedback allows us to identify areas that need to be targeted for improvement. The survey is run every two years so we can confidently say that we are addressing the needs and concerns of our users based on your input.

How often does it happen?

The survey is run every two years. Our next survey will be in August 2014. Our last survey was run in August 2012 .

What were the results of the last Survey?

The areas you were most satisfied with include the way staff treat you and respond to your needs. The areas that you felt needed improving include access to computers, wireless networks and printing, and the need for more quiet study spaces and group study areas.

The University Library has been running the Library Client Survey since 2002.  Formerly called the Rodski Survey, it is coordinated by Insync, a Behavioural Research Group that has been analysing the performances of Australian University Libraries for a number of years. The custom designed questionnaire investigates student and staff levels of satisfaction with the facilities and equipment, service quality and delivery, and the performance of library staff. The survey allows us to benchmark our performance against other university libraries.
