Database access problems

We are currently experiencing intermittent problems with access to our electronic resources from off campus.

We wish to apologise to anyone who may be experiencing problems accessing our electronic resources from off campus.

There appears to be an intermittent network problem that is only affecting some people. Our IT people are working on it but so far have been unable to identify the cause.  However we are continuing to investigate and hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the following suggestions may help:

  • If you are able to come on campus, do your research, download articles, etc while there (we realise this is not an option for some people)
  • Clear your cache and cookies, and afterwards make sure you close and re-open your browser, however restarting your computer is recommended.
  • Use a different browser - Firefox is the most common alternative to Internet Explorer, but ChromeSafari (also available for PC) and Opera are other possibilities.
