Online Resources Access Information

Access to the Library's electronic resources is restricted to University staff and students. You need enter your Library or Student number and your Library PIN before you can access databases and electronic journals. A few databases temporarily still require that you set up the University proxy server details in your browser.

How to login

To login to use the Library databases and electronic resources you will be prompted for your Library number and your Library PIN.

Library Number

Students:	your library number is the same as your student number
e.g.	9012345
Note: Do not put the 'c' in front

Staff:	your library number is located on your library card
e.g.	123456789
Note: Do not put the 'v' in front

Library PIN

Your Library PIN is created by you. It should consist of 4 to 6 numerals. Do not use alpha characters when creating your PIN number.

If you have not yet created a PIN , you will be prompted to create one when you attempt to do any of the following functions for the first time.

accessing Library databases & online journals
viewing your record in NEWCAT
placing a hold on or booking an item
renewing items via the Internet
using the self-checkout units

Staff Registrations

Staff on Campus
Staff, conjoints, affiliates, etc can register in person at the Loans Enquiry Desk in each Library. As a guide, in most cases registration can usually be processed on the same working day when the relevant forms have been completed.

Staff off Campus
A new online registration process has been implemented. To register for a Library card/number please complete the online form.

University Proxy Server

The following databases can only be accessed via the University proxy server, using your Uni-ID and password. This should only be a temporary measure. If you have not already set up the proxy details, the instructions can be found here.
