SciFinder Scholar

YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE USING THE WEB VERSION

New User Registration

New users must register before using the web version.  Registration not only provides the necessary security, but also gives you the ability to personalise features, such as Keep Me Posted alert service, which is only available on the web version.  Further information and instructions on registering.

Description

SciFinder Scholar is the online service for Chemical Abstracts. It is a reference database for related disciplines. Searching is by keyword, chemical structure and chemical reaction. More information on this database is available from the CAS site.

SciFinder Scholar is now available on the web.  The client is still available but we encourage you to use the web version.  Our four user licence is split across the web and client versions.

Number of users allowed

This database has a four user licence, currently set as two users for the web version and two users for the client version.  This will be monitored and adjusted according to usage of each platform.

If you try to login on either platform when two other users are already logged in you will encounter the following message: "Scifinder Scholar is unable to establish a session because all concurrent sessions for your campus are in use. Please try again later"
