The Flowers Room Refurbishment Project

 

Why Renovate?

The roof over the Flowers Reading Room (Auchmuty Library, Level 4) requires replacing as it is more than 40 years old and has developed serious leaking problems which can only be addressed with a major re-roofing and refurbishment project.  We have also been given the opportunity to renovate the reading area to provide new shelving, more computers, new lighting and refurbished group and postgraduate study areas.  The Flowers Reading Room will be closed for the second semester of 2008. 

Update: From Wednesday 26th November Library Lane will be closed until the building works are completed in 2009.  A safety fence has been erected, and it is important to note that sections of the Library forecourt, verandah, and the southern side of the Library will be included in the building zones.
