Postgraduate Facilities

The planned refurbishment of the Flowers Room in Auchmuty Library has made it necessary for the temporary relocation of the Postgraduate Room to Level 3.  The new room is located next to Group Study Room 3a (towards the rear of the Medicine collection) and provides access to PC workstations, Laptop facilities and secure lockers.

The new room opened on Wednesday 4th June 2008.  Please see Loans staff on Level 3 for further information.

Group Study Space

Due to the renovations in the Flowers Room the Group Study Rooms on Level 4 are temporarily unavailable.  Additional individual study desks have been provided in the Audiovisual and Reference Collection areas on Level 3.  Large tables are also available in these areas for group study.  Group Study Rooms 3a and 3b are available for booking for groups requiring audiovisual equipment and a PC.

Not just a new roof…

While the refurbishment project is taking place the Roof Garden will unfortunately remain closed.  The roof will be used as a work area for the construction crew renovating the Flowers Room.  The garden was originally funded by the Friends of the University, but as with the first garden it started to feel the effects of time and was dismantled at the end of 2006 to replace the membrane above the foyer that had begun to leak.  A new lightweight concrete surface has replaced the concrete tiles and plans are now underway to rejuvenate the area.  It is hoped that in 2009 the Roof Garden will once again provide a place for students to read, study, relax and socialise in a comfortable outdoor environment.
