Returning your Loans

Loans can be returned at any University of Newcastle Library. A courier service operates daily to return items to their home library.

After Hours return chutes are located near the entrance to both the Auchmuty Library and the Ourimbah Campus Library.

Renewing your Loans

Using the 24 hour Automated Telephone Renewal Service:

Telephone 02 4921 6878
easy to follow instructions
you require your student ID number (eg. 9012345)
can renew all loans or;
can renew individual items, but require the last 4 digits of the item barcode located on the front cover to the item

NB: Items that have holds cannot be renewed

Using NEWCAT:

View your record in MyLibrary
Type in your Student or Library card number and PIN, click on Display record…
Select the items you wish to renew
Click on the Renew Selected Items, or Renew All button
Scroll down the page to check that all items have been renewed

The following items cannot be renewed:

Items recalled or reserved for another patron
Short Loans/ Reserve Collection material
