University Library Australia is a national borrowing scheme which allows all staff and students of AVCC member universities to borrow in person from any other interstate university in Australia. The scheme is a cooperative arrangement between member universities of the Australian Vice Chancellors' Committee.
The scheme came into effect 2 July 2001.

Register by filling in the ULA Application form, which can be printed, signed and presented along with your payment at the Loans Enquiry counter to obtain borrowing privileges. Payment can be made by cheque or credit card.
University Library Australia (ULA) Application Form
Both are needed to establish that the borrower is the person eligible to participate in the scheme.
University Library Australia borrowing privileges are valid to 28 February of the following year. A new authorised application form is needed each year.
Each university library has different borrowing rules, regulations and charges. Charges to register at the University of Newcastle are $50 for students and no charge for staff.
Borrower's are required to read and sign the application form acknowledging and agreeing to use of information. Personal information and details of their loans may be conveyed between home and host libraries.
Your use of other libraries will be governed by each institution's rules and regulations, number of items and types of material which may be borrowed and length of loan period.
The University of Newcastle's Library Use Policy should be read before signing the application form.
