Convocation Borrowers

Convocation borrowers generally enjoy the same rights and responsibilities as the University of Newcastle’s own undergraduates with some slight variations.

All University of Newcastle graduates are automatically members of Convocation

Application Fee

January to June $55 until end of year
July to October $27.50 until end of year
November/December $55 until end of following year.
Photo ID and proof of convocation status required when registering.

Borrowing

A maximum 15 books, as well as up to 15 AV items from Central Coast AV or Huxley AV.
2 week loans for books unless otherwise stated in NEWCAT.
5 Renewals unless items are reserved.
Fines charged at $2 per item for the first day overdue, increasing by 50c per day until the item is returned, borrowing privileges cease when fines reach $15.
Items returned 4 weeks after due date will be invoiced for the purchase cost per item plus a non refundable processing fee of $20.

Items from general collections, including
3 day loan.
General Short Loans collections.
Huxley Videos.
Huxley and Central Coast general AV collections.
A maximum of 10 items maybe placed on hold and these will be held for collection for 5 days.
