Grades

Academic performance is usually graded at the end of each term and the final assessment will include assignment and tutorial work, examinations, practical work etc. The grading scale used at the University is as follows:

 HD  85 - 100 High Distinction
 D  75 - 84 Distinction
 C  65 - 74 Credit
 P  50 - 64 Pass
 UP   You have been awarded an Ungraded Pass. There are no marks associated with this result and you have met the level requirements to pass the course.
 FF   Fail

Incomplete. Not all the information is available to calculate a mark at this stage. Reasons for this may be that you have still to provide an assessment requirement or that the Lecturer has yet to complete the marking. If you are unsure about the reasons for this mark you should contact the School office.

"I" results are automatically converted to "FF" after 90 days.

Please note:  twelve month trial extending the life of an I grade commenced in November 2011.  During this trial I grades may remain for 12 months beyond the fully graded date.  I grades will convert to Fail (FF) 12 months after the fully graded date unless resolved by the relevant School prior.  A review of this trial will be undertaken at the end of 2012.

 S   Special Consideration. The result is pending the outcome of an application for Special Circumstances. "S" results are  automatically converted to "FF" after 180 days if the result is not amended.
