FAQs about coexistence
During the transition period, there is no coexistence between UNify and GroupWise, however, as the project continues this will become less of an issue.
While there should be no problem sending emails between GroupWise and UNify, features such as busy searches, proxy access, sharing folders and address books between the two systems will not be possible. Even sending appointments between GroupWise and UNify users during the period of coexistence may not always work as expected.
In many cases a phone call may be the quickest method of establishing a colleague's availability.
Alternately, there are instructions for a busy search procedure that you can use on the UNify website.
Wherever possible business areas and faculties will be migrated together in order to minimise the impact of a lack of coexistence functionality. Note that as each group is migrated coexistence will become less of an issue.
Keep in mind as you make the transition from GroupWise to UNify is that the two programs serve the same purpose and have many of the same features. Certainly, you will need to click in different places to accomplish specific tasks, but we are certain your experience with UNify will be a positive one.
Nearly all of what you did in GroupWise can be done in UNify. For example, in GroupWise, you could shift between mail and calendar by clicking on a tab at the top left of your window. In UNify, the same thing is accomplished by clicking on an icon at the bottom left of the window.
The following FAQs will provide answers to your questions as the University migrated from GroupWise to UNify.
A. When you start to use UNify for the first time you will not be able to see the appointments of GroupWise users when setting up meetings.

Note: You will still need to send the appointment/meeting request from GroupWise if you have not yet migrated to UNify, or UNify if you have migrated.
A. Yes. The calendars and folders will be copied over and the owner can share these with colleagues. Instructions will be available soon.
A. Most functionality found in GroupWise, including tasks, folders and busy searches, can be found in UNify. Many additional features will be available.
A. Providing your existing archives were moved to TANK0 prior to migration, they will be available in the new system.
