DEN
is a cross-sectoral forum of staff from schools, Vocational Education
and Training, and universities responsible for supporting students
with a disability, or chronic illness, throughout their studies.
Quarterly meetings are
held each school term in the Hunter Region and a listserver, 'den-list',
has been established to support the development of the Network
and to facilitate communication between staff.
DEN has been established to support staff employed in the education
sector who work directly with students, or have an interest in disability
issues, and who are located in the Hunter, Central Coast, Taree
and Tamworth areas. Yearly satellite DEN meetings will be organised
for the Central Coast, Taree, and Tamworth areas in addition to
the quarterly Hunter meetings. There is no requirement to apply
for DEN membership and there are no fees payable. All staff (or
each school) automatically receive DEN Newsletters and ongoing information
from the convenor of the Network.
