Neurological Conditions
All students requiring support through the Disability Support Service must register.
Services available for students with a neurological condition include:
- Alternative formatted reading material
- Reading material on coloured paper
- Exam support
- Technology including voice activated software, Kurzweill 3000
- Advocacy
- Notetaking
- Negotiation with lecturers for flexible assessment due dates, and alternative assessment arrangements
Because of the individuality of the needs of students with neurological conditions, the above are only examples. It is encouraged that you discuss your particular needs with the Disability Liaison Officer to ensure the appropriate support services are provided.
It is important that specific arrangements are made in a timely manner. Some services can take up to 3 or 4 weeks to put into place. To ensure that Disability Support Staff can make the necessary arrangements, please make contact with the office with adequate notice.
