Closed Circuit TVs

Closed Circuit TVs provide high quality document enlargement for students with a vision impairment. Any form of written material (books, newspapers, magazines, etc) can be magnified and viewed on a large monitor. There are two CCTV’s available on the Callaghan Campus. One located in the Adaptive Technology Centre in the Auchmuty Library and the other is in the Adaptive Technology Room in the Huxley Library.

Audio Calculator

The audio calculator provides electronic speech output for students who are blind, vision impaired or have a learning disability. It may be used in the Centre or be loaned to the student for the duration of the semester.

Reading Stands

Reading stands are provided for students with a vision impairment to assist with the reading process as well as to minimize the physical strain associated with regular computer usage. They are available in the Adaptive Technology Centre and the Huxley Adaptive Technology Resource room.
