Braille Support
Duxbury Braille Translator
This software allows word processed documents or computer text files to be converted to Braille computer files. By using the screen reading software JAWS students who are blind or vision impaired and require Braille can use the Duxbury Braille Translator to produce their own documents from computer files. The computer files can be produced by scanning hard copy print material and converting it into computer text using Optical Character Recognition software or by using a word processor such as Microsoft Word to type the text.
Versapoint Braille Embosser
Once a computer text file has been created and imported into the Duxbury Braille Translator it can be embossed on the Versapoint Braille embosser. The Versapoint is a completely accessible Braille embosser which can be used independently by blind students once they have been given the appropriate training.
