Library Assistance
Library assistance is available to students with a disability in University of Newcastle libraries. Library assistance may involve one or more of the following:
- Assistance with retrieval of physical resources
- Assistance with photocopying of material
- Assistance with physical access
- Library catalogue, database and Internet training
- Orientation tours
If you require library assistance on an irregular basis and it involves physical assistance then speak with library staff. If library assistance is required on a regular basis it is recommended that students register with the Disability Support Service and be referred to the Adaptive Technology Centre to discuss ongoing support.
Auchmuty Library
Ongoing library assistance in the Auchmuty Library is provided through the Adaptive Technology Centre by Centre staff where appropriate. For ongoing assistance students must be registered with the Disability Support Service.
Huxley, City, Ourimbah and Port Macquarie Campus Libraries
Library assistance at campus libraries other than the Auchmuty Library is provided by library staff. Library staff may contact the Adaptive Technology Centre if they believe the assistance you require is outside of their range of expertise. Alternatively, if you feel the assistance you require is of a more complicated nature than library staff can provide please contact either the Disability Support Service or the Adaptive Technology Centre.
