Meditation

Meditation is a skill which, with practice, enables you to soothe the mind and relax the body. When you work and study most of the time, it can be difficult to stop thinking about what you have done or need to do next! This mental tension is translated into the heart - resulting in feelings of anxiety and stress, and into the body - resulting in muscle tension, headaches and/or fatigue.

True relaxation relieves the mind, the heart and the body. Meditation is one way to achieve inner peace and to release tension. There are many types of meditation, so you may find the type that suits you best. It can even be done quickly, anywhere! When you deeply relax all parts of yourself, you feel refreshed and re-energised.

The counselling service has recorded a variety of meditations on lectopia for you to listen to on your computer or to download onto an MP3 player. Some are very brief, some longer and there are different types of meditations for you to try. Below is a list of current meditations available now.
