Make an Appointment
The University Counselling Service is a free service for students. Staff of the University of Newcastle can seek counselling through the Employee Assistance program which is a free service to all employees and their immediate family.
Counsellors are available for appointments from 9.00am-5.00pm weekdays. Appointments are up to 50 minutes long and must be booked ahead. After hours appointments can also be arranged if required.
If your appointment is your first apppointment with the Counselling Service, or your first appointment for the year, we ask for you to arrive 5-10 minutes before the booked appointment, so that you can complete our Counselling Service information sheet.
During busy times of semester there may be a waiting time before your appointment. Click here for tips and strategies to manage while you waiting for you an appointment.
Emergency appointments are available to students with an immediate personal or academic crisis.
