Working Parties of Academic Senate
Academic Senate has set up the following working parties relating to its priorities for 2011-2012:
- AQF Steering Committee
- Academic Experience Priority Working Party
- Resources Priority Working Party
- Streamlining Academic Policies Project
- Student Experience and Engagement Working Party (SEEWP)
AQF Project Group
Chair: Prof Val Robertson
The purpose of the AQF Project Group is to provide expert advice to the AQF Steering Committee on matters associated with ensuring AQF compliance in the University.
Streamlining Academic Policies Project
Chair: Professor Val Robertson
The Streamlining Academic Policies and Procedures Working Party was setup in June 2010 to rationalise and streamline the suite of academic legislation, addressing academic policy issues and gaps identified during the rationalisation process.
Student Experience and Engagement Working Party (SEEWP)
Chair: Professor Bill Hogarth
In 2011 the Student Experience and Engagement Reference Goup was reformed and renamed the Student Experience and Engagement Working Party (SEEWP) to coordinate Student Experience and Engagement a the University of Newcastle.

Academic Experience Priority Working Party
Chair: Associate Professor Rohan Rasiah
The formation of the Academic Experience working party was endorsed by Academic Senate on 4 August 2010.
The working party was established to identify how Academic Senate can contribute to the 2011 - 2012 priority of improving the academic experience.
Resource Priorities Working Party
Chair: Professor Mark Jones
A Resource Priorities Working Party (RPWP) has been established for 2011 with the following responsibilities:
a. identification of the salient issues;
b. identification of the issues affecting Academic Senate business;
c. provision of informed input on the budget discussions at meetings 3 and 5 of Academic Senate.
