Jobs on Campus
Looking for Casual or Part Time work on campus?
Jobs on Campus is an initiative of the Careers Service that aims to increase the number of part time and casual jobs available on campus for students of The University of Newcastle.
Jobs on Campus supports students to gain skills and experience that will enhance your graduate employability prospects whilst allowing you to earn an income in a safe and flexible work environment.
Where do I look for work on Campus?
Go to CareerHub
Note: First time users will need to register before logging in
Students can view current positions that are formally being advertised and register for the Casual Job Pool by navigating to "Jobs on Campus" which can be found on the left hand side of the screen.
How long is my registration valid for on the Casual Job Pool?
- Semester 1 Casual Job Pool opens in the first week of semester.
- Semester 2 Casual Job Pool opens in the first week of semester.
Students may register and upload their resume and selection criteria for the Casual Job Pool until the census date for each semester. (See university dates).
The Casual Job Pool for each semester will remain active until the start of the following semester. All applications from the previous semester will then be deleted and removed from CareerHub.
It is the responsibility of the student to reapply if they wish to be reconsidered for the following semester.
Am I guaranteed a position if I have registered for the Jobs on Campus Casual Job Pool?
The University of Newcastle does not guarantee that all students registered in the casual pool will be offered jobs on campus throughout each semester. However we hope that the areas employing staff will fill short term casual vacancies using students who have registered for the Casual Job Pool.
The Careers Service recommends that you read the Finding Part-time or Casual Work information sheet if you are looking to secure work outside the University.
I have seen a position advertised but I am unsure of the application procedure?
The Careers Service can assist when you are preparing your job application and it is strongly recommended that students read the information sheets available on CareerHub. Students can also attend the drop in resume checking service. If longer appointments are required students can book an appointment with a Careers Counsellors to help in preparation with your application. To view resume checking times or to make an appointment visit CareerHub.
