- The name included for me in Blackboard is incorrect - can this be changed?
- Why doesn't my web browser's 'Back' button always work when I'm using Blackboard?
- Why do only the navigation buttons print when I try to print a Blackboard screen?
- None of this helps, can I ask my own question?
An application may be made to Student Services for changing the ‘preferred name’ displayed in Blackboard. For more details see: www.newcastle.edu.au/study/forms/guidelines_for_name_change.html
Actually it's a good idea to avoid using your web browser's 'Back' button while you are in Blackboard, because it can cause problems. Blackboard offers you a 'Back' link at the bottom of pages where the back option is needed. You can also use the other navigation buttons on the page to return to a certain place within Blackboard without the need to use the browser's 'Back' button.
Blackboard uses frames for the layout of its screens. Within the Blackboard course area three frames are used - the general navigation buttons (including home, help and logout) appear at the top within one frame; the frame on the left includes the course navigation buttons (announcements, discussion board, communication, etc), with the right hand frame used for displaying the content of selections.
Only one frame is active at a time, and this is the frame that is printed. Click within the main Blackboard screen to ensure this is the active frame before using your web browser's print command.
