EVATT HOUSE

Evatt House is more than just a place to live, it's about College pride, enthusiasm and mass participation!  Originally known as the country kids college, Evatt House is a home away from home for 211 residents who seek independent living in self-catered unit style residences but who want to be a part of a friendly and social community.

Evatt House has built a strong tradition of sporting rivalry and excellence and is actively involved in the wider community in pursuit of ensuring residents develop valuable leadership and promote social responsibility.

College Life

Carpe Diem is the motto of which Evatt House residents live their every day - taking advantage of seizing every opportunity to make the most of College living.  Living within Evatt means being involved in a large range of activities including sporting events art exhibitions, College balls and academic dinners, career nights, multi-cultural dinners and community activities.  Regardless of your interest, Evatt encourages mass participation at every event to support fellow residents.

Living Arrangements

Evatt House is divided into units of five, six and ten bedrooms.  All residents have a private room with a single bed, wardrobe, study desk, bookshelf, study chair, mirror, notice board, desk lamp and heater.  Kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared with other members of the unit.  The dining and lounge area is a popular area for residents to socialise, relax and eat their meals with dining chairs, lounge chairs, coffee tables and a television provided.  Kitchens are fully equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, kettle, toaster, electric fry pan, microwave oven, electric stove and fridge/freezer.  Residents are also provided with pantry space to store their non-perishable food items.

Services and Facilities

The Evatt Common Room, also known as the CAT Room, is centrally located with a stereo system, television, pay TV, video and DVD player, pool table and table tennis. Evatt also has two covered BBQ areas with picnic tables. The Evatt study room can accommodate between six and eight students for quiet study and residents have access to a computer including internet access which may also be used by residents for study purposes.
