How to Apply

Important Notices

Applications for Semester 2 2009, oncampus accommodation opened on the 1st April 2009. The closing date is the 31st May 2009.

Please note, that applications submitted without an application fee are not considered valid, and hence, will not receive any correspondence. Late applications may be submitted, but have a reduced chance of being successful.

 

The Application Process

Applications will only be considered and assessed once the applicant has completed the 4-step application process by the set deadline.The 4 essential steps are:

  1. Successful submission of your On-Line application form. Please note only one application per campus will be accepted. 
  2. Payment of the $30 application fee (non-refundable)
  3. Complete an On-Line Personal Statement Form or download one in PDF format and then send completed to the college of 1st preference
  4. Two Referee Report Forms to be completed by your selected referees and then submitted to your 1st preference college.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

If you do not yet have a student number, you can still complete an application. Simply leave that data field empty when filling in your application.

Late applications will only be considered in special circumstances. 

Note: The validity of the application and the application fee is two semesters.  If you have withdrawn your application for one semester and would like the college to consider your application for the next semester, please contact the college before the closing date.

The Selection Process

The assessment of applications are primarily based upon the following criteria (not in any particular order of preference):

The Offering Process

Completed applications submitted by the due date will be assessed and considered.

  1. Successful applications will be sent the offer package by email when they have been accepted into their course at the University.
  2. Those applicants who have not been offered a place at their first college preference in the first round of offer will be sent a letter via email advising them that they have been placed on a waiting list.  Applicants on the waiting list will need to advise if they wish to remain on the waiting list.
  3. Applicants on the waiting list will not be notified the position of their application on the waiting list.
  4. Applicants on the waiting list will be contacted as soon as the college is able to offer them a place.

 

To submit your Personal Statement and Referee Reports 

The Personal Statement Form in PDF format should be sent either by email or by mail to the college of your first preference (as listed in your On-Line Application Form). 

Referees will need to submit the completed Referee Reports by email, mail or fax.

Payment Methods for Application Fee 

  • Credit Card

f you wish to pay the application fee with your credit card, you may print theCredit Card Form, complete it and return by mail to:

  • Cheque, Bank Draft or Money Order

Please write the applicant’s name and address on the back of the cheque, bank draft or money order for identification. 

  • Cash

You may pay with cash at the Accommodation Enquiry Centre or Accommodation Administration Office by completing a Cash Payment Form. 

DO NOT pay your application fee at the University Cashiers. 

 

Closing dates for application 

Semester 1 (February to June)

  • 30 November – applicable to international students
  • 8 January – applicable to domestic students


Semester 2 (July to November)

  • 1 April - applicable to all students
  • 31 May – applicable to all students
