Edwards Hall can houses 374 residents. 299 beds in the Main Hall Catered rooms and 75 Self-Catered Beds. Each resident is accomodated in his/her own private room with shared bathroom and tearoom facilities. Of the 299 Main hall rooms 33 are up-graded rooms with an ensuite, television and air-conditioning. The Self-Catered units can house 5 residents each with their own private room with a shared kitchen, bathroom and lounge room.
In their first year of residence, students are housed in single rooms in either Burnet or Cutler Houses and tariffs include 16 meals per week. Each bedroom has a single bed, telephone (with voicemail facilities), large study table, ergonomic office chair, study lamp and a wardrobe with a mirror as well as plenty of storage for books and personal gear. All rooms are provided with a heater.
Blankets and pillows are supplied to all bedrooms but you will need to bring a set of single bed sheets (most people like to bring their own doona cover as well).
Radios, sound systems, musical instruments, etc. may be played in bedrooms or recreation areas on the strict understanding that other members in the vicinity are not inconvenienced.
A cleaning service to bed-study rooms is not provided and each resident is expected to maintain her/his room and surrounds in a reasonable state of cleanliness. Cleaning equipment for this purpose is stored in cupboards in each House.
Each floor of Burnet and Cutler Houses has a communal bathroom with showers and toilets. Students are required to supply their own bathroom towels and toiletry items.
Each corridor of Burnet and Cutler Houses has a communal tearoom. This room has a mircowave, fridge, instant hot water and sink to prepare a snack.
