Maintenance Requests

If you need to report a defect within the residential colleges or maintenance request this is to be lodged online. These requests are attended to by a caretaker or contractor as soon as possible. You will need your log in ID and password to lodge an online maintenance request.

Blue Gum House students please call Facilities Maintenance on x 84291 or Security on x 84222 for urgent maintenance problems. All non-urgent maintenance requests need to be emailed to Bluegum-House@newcastle.edu.au

Non Urgent Requests

Non urgent requests involve circumstances where there is no or minimal safety risk to residents and/or property, or the resident(s) can comfortably wait until the next working day for their request to be attended to.

Examples – Dripping tap, blown light globe, washing machine/dryer not working.

Urgent Requests

Urgent requests involve circumstances where there is a significant safety risk to residents or property, and/or there is an interruption to basic facilitates.

Examples – Overflowing toilet, loss of electrical power, loss of water supply.

Urgent Requests in Office Hours: Please report to the relevant office by phone as soon as possible and then complete an online maintenance request.

Callaghan – Extension 41000 (office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm).

Ourimbah – Extension 84291 (facilities management).

Urgent Requests outside Office Hours: * Please contact your relevant on call staff member, call university security and finally complete an online maintenance request.

*Weekend, Public Holidays, Monday – Friday, 6:00pm – 8:00am.
