Jane Klein

Midday - 4pm Thursdays & Fridays

Jane KleinJane loves sound - the sound of music and voice - and language, and the way they go together on radio.

Her interest in language and languages dates from an early age, when she tussled with the ancient Romans and the more modern French and Germans in tongues they could understand. This was fostered by several years living in Germany, in the centre of Europe, with lots of travelling.

Teaching the Aussie language to migrants in the Hunter led to a chance of making a series of radio programs for learning English - and to an association with 2NURFM that started in 1983 and has continued ever since.

On 2NURFM Jane has read selections from the papers for What the Papers Say, interviewed lots of Hunter residents who have moved here from other countries for Our World, indulged in world music for The World at Large, occasionally fills in on the morning show, hosts Finance Talkback with Barry Preston on Thursdays, and Talks Travel with Barry Warwick and Sally Lucas on Fridays, and luxuriates in easy listening music on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
