2NUR-FM provides a forum for local artists to reach audiences not only in the Hunter, but right around Australia.

As a faculty of The University of Newcastle, the Conservatorium fosters music teaching and performance. In its Concert Hall, regarded as one of the finest in the country, Newcastle audiences enjoy recitals by students, and eminent local artists.

August 10	WAXING LYRICAL - Jennifer Barnes, Rosemary Saunders, Paul Bevan and Christopher Allan in a concert of LIEBESLIEDER WALTZES and other romantic favourites by BRAHMS, STRAUSS, SCHUMANN, SCHUBERT and QUILTER.
August 17	THE HUNTER SINGERS - a talented group of young people from various schools in the Hunter Region, under the direction of KIM SUTHERLAND in a varied program of New Australian works as well as some well-loved favourites.
August 24	UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA conducted by SUSAN COLLINS with Flute Soloist SALLY WALKER playing works by Jaques Ibert and Dmitri Shostakovich.
August 31	UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE BRASS ENSEMBLE and CONSERVATORIUM CHOIR directed by JOHN KELLAWAY and CHRISTOPHER ALLAN in concert.
