Research Participation

Overview

The School of Psychology has a strong and continually expanding research focus, with a range of internationally recognised research projects funded by national and international competitive grant bodies. Some of these research projects involve PhD students, Clinical/Health Masters and Professional Doctorate, honours and fourth year psychology students who undertake research projects under close supervision from staff.

SONA

Research carried out by staff and students in the School recruit from a variety of participant populations (e.g., university students, the general public, populations with specific social demographics or history of health/mental health conditions). To enable this, the School of Psychology operates the SONA experimental management system, which provides a list of all current research projects and enables individuals to sign-up to participate in the studies of their choice.

To participate in research, you can access the SONA system by clicking either the '1st Year Psychology Research Awareness Exercise' or 'Psychology Volunteer Register' link below. Information about participation in the School of Psychology research projects undertaken outside the SONA system can be accessed by clicking on the 'Research Projects' link on the sidebar.
