ADMINISTRATION

Emma Bence is the Clinic Administrator and was available in the clinic Monday and Friday mornings and all day on Tuesday and Thursday. The clinic was also fortunate to have the assistance of 4th year Psychology students (Natalia Amanatidis, Maria O'Callaghan, Janis Riggs, Jennifer Robinson, and Kate Smith) and international students (Amanda Hietpas and Kyra Rodene) who volunteered their time as receptionists.

In order to facilitate students understanding of administration issues relating to clinical practice, all clinical and health postgraduate students were required to complete an administrative task as part of their placement. This involved performing some specific tasks that contribute to the Clinic such as organisation of resources, updating procedures manuals, and updating resource kits.

INTERNS

It is compulsory for students in the Clinical Masters, Clinical and Clinical/Health Professional Doctorate or Professional PhD programs to complete a placement at the Clinic. This usually occurs during Year 1 of their postgraduate program. During this time period the following postgraduate students gained clinical experience through placements at the Clinic (see Table 1).

There were more students who completed a clinic placement in 2009 due to 2 factors. The first was increased student intakes in 2008 and 2009 resulted in the introduction of a 'part clinic exemption' for students who were experienced registered Psychologists. The second was the introduction of the group menopause program which was conducted during the day (non clinic day) and evening as well as on Saturdays which extended the time the clinic would normally operate.

There were 7 students who commenced their placement in 2008 and completed in 2009, 16 students who commenced and completed in 2009 (3 part clinic placements and 1 incomplete) and 8 students who commenced in 2009 and continued into 2010.
