Head of School's Welcome
Hello and welcome to the School of Psychology.
We are located within the Faculty of Science and IT with 30 academic staff, 920 undergraduate students and 231 postgraduate course work and 57 research higher degree students. We have a very active and enviable research profile with state-of-the-art EEG facilities, access to brain imaging equipment; well-equipped wet and dry laboratories and computer facilities. Members of the School study a diverse range of topics from development in childhood and social influences on decision making, to the study of anxiety disorders and mental illness, and on to the modelling of memory processes and the study of personality and social learning.
Our School provides a friendly, relaxed but challenging learning environment that focuses on achieving excellence in scholarship, teaching and research. We offer the undergraduate Bachelor of Psychology program accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) at our Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses. Our postgraduate coursework programs provide professional training in Clinical and Health psychology and their value is demonstrated by the high demand for our graduates for employment in the health services.
In summary, the School is highly regarded because of its staff and its students. We offer a superb location for local, national and international students to study and our focus on excellence in research and teaching provides a highly valuable educational experience.
