Potential Candidates

INFORMATION FOR POTENTIAL CANDIDATES

Recognition is growing internationally that the quality of hospital patient care is enhanced by doctors with generalist expertise who can lead and provide effective coordinated patient care across specialist disciplines.

As the number of patients with multiple conditions increases, we need more doctors with the clinical skills, organisational knowledge and capacity for inter-professional leadership to manage patients at the 'front-line'.

Whatever their clinical roles in hospitals, these are the doctors that hospitals will need more of in the future.

The NSW Ministry of Health is proactively supporting the growth of a highly-skilled generalist medical workforce through its Senior Hospitalist initiative.
