Where are you currently working and what are you currently doing?
I am currently working for Woodside Energy in Perth as a graduate geophysicist. My degree was extremely valuable with regards to teaching me to think about problems/issues in a methodical and logical manner, but more importantly to go on and find possible solutions. Also a large mathematical grounding and understanding of physical concepts (physics) was pivotal in me being offered the position I now hold. ...more about Alison

What advice would you give to future students considering studying Physics at Newcastle?
To do so, and find out early what additional study options are open to you, such as which people work in each field.

Why did you choose to study Physics at Newcastle?
It allowed me to combine two areas I was interested in into a double degree, meaning I could complete two degrees in 5 years as opposed to 6.
