Degree Programs
Programs you would enrol in to study Physics and/or Photonics
The Bachelor of Science degree with a single major in Physics or Photonics, or a double major combining both will provide students with a broad range of transferable analytical, research and communication skills, and detailed technical knowledge and expertise in these area(s) of specialisation.
During their training as scientists, students gain a range of workplace skills in problem solving, critical analysis, written and oral presentation, teamwork and computing. These qualities are and will continue to be in great demand with employers, and this training will allow graduates to contribute to science and society into the future. In addition, the detailed knowledge and skills that students obtain in their major(s) allows them to access honours studies, higher-level employment, and research.
The Bachelor of Science (Photonics) is only available to to continuing students. Students commencing Photonics should refer to the Bachelor of Science program information.
The Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)/Bachelor of Science with a Science Teaching major or minor in Physics prepares students to teach Science in secondary schools. Students gain the skills and knowledge required for the teaching profession while developing strengths in the courses they will teach.
A combined degree with the faculty or in conjunction with other Faculties offers students the diversity and benefits of both degree programs. The following combined degrees have a Physics or photonics major, however other combined degree programs can be found in the Program Handbook that contain Physics courses.
