The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences incorporates the disciplines of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics which provide training in the core skills of a wide range of professions. The School has an excellent reputation for quality teaching, cutting edge research and outstanding outreach to schools and the community.

The teaching staff are committed to providing quality training in these challenging areas of study and they routinely receive high acclaim from the students on the quality of tuition and attention to students needs. We have developed an interesting range of approaches to meet the needs of students of different backgrounds which is aimed to ensuring a challenging and rewarding learning experience.

The research achievements of the staff are amongst the highest in the university. Our research groups have international reputations for research findings at the highest level and our research discoveries contribute to new knowledge as well as applications.

The School is actively involved in a range of outreach activities including the highly successful Science and Engineering Challenge and the SMART Program. Our goal is to bring the excitement of work to the broader community.
